Terms of service

Terms of Service – Curiosité

These Terms of Service apply to purchases made through curiosite.se and to the use of our website.

The shop is operated by Penny-Doy Aktiebolag, organisation number 559372-0823, trading as Curiosité.

By placing an order, you confirm that you accept these terms. Mandatory consumer rights under Swedish and EU law always apply and are not limited by these terms.

Orders

You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian, to place an order.

After placing an order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. The order is accepted once we have confirmed it.

We reserve the right to cancel an order if, for example:

  • The product is no longer available.

  • The price or product information contains an obvious error.

  • We cannot verify or process the payment.

  • We reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.

If payment has already been taken for a cancelled order, the amount will be refunded.

Products and vintage condition

Curiosité sells vintage, antique and selected new items.

Vintage and antique pieces have previously been used and may show signs of age, wear, patina, repairs or small imperfections. These characteristics are part of their history and are not considered faults when they have been clearly shown or described on the product page.

We make every reasonable effort to present each item accurately through photographs, measurements and descriptions. Colours may appear slightly different depending on the customer’s screen.

Unless otherwise stated, vintage and antique items are sold individually and may be one of a kind.

Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in the currency selected on the website. Applicable VAT is included unless otherwise stated.

Available payment methods are shown at checkout. Payment is handled securely by our payment providers, and Curiosité does not store complete card details.

For deliveries outside the EU, Swedish VAT may be removed where applicable. Import VAT, customs duties and carrier administration fees may be charged upon arrival and are the customer’s responsibility.

Shipping and delivery

Available shipping methods, prices and estimated transit times are displayed at checkout and explained in our Shipping Policy.

Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. International parcels may be delayed by customs inspections, carrier handling, weather or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Additional costs caused by an incorrect address, an uncollected parcel or a refused delivery may be charged to the customer where permitted by law.

Click & Collect

Customers may select Click & Collect at checkout when the option is available.

We will send an email when the order is ready. Please bring the order confirmation and, if requested, identification when collecting the order.

Cancellation, withdrawal and returns

Consumers purchasing online generally have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the order, subject to the exceptions provided by law.

To exercise this right, contact us within the withdrawal period and clearly state that you wish to withdraw from the purchase.

The customer is normally responsible for return shipping costs. Returned products must be handled with care and returned in substantially the same condition in which they were received. A deduction may be made if the item’s value has been reduced because it was handled more than necessary to inspect it.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal may apply to customised or personalised goods and other products excluded by law.

Full instructions are available in our Refund Policy.

Damaged parcels and complaints

Please inspect your order when it arrives. If an item is damaged during delivery, incorrect or appears to have a fault that was not disclosed, contact us as soon as possible and include your order number and photographs of the item and packaging.

Under the Swedish Consumer Sales Act, consumers may have the right to complain about an original fault for up to three years after receiving the product. This statutory right also applies to used goods, but the item’s age, condition, price and product description are considered when determining whether something constitutes a fault.

Normal wear, disclosed imperfections and characteristics reasonably expected of a vintage or antique item are not considered faults.

Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory statutory rights.

Gift cards

Digital Curiosité gift cards are delivered by email and may be used online or in our Gothenburg shop, subject to the instructions supplied with the gift card.

Gift cards cannot normally be exchanged for cash. If the full amount is not used, the remaining balance stays available for future purchases, subject to any clearly stated validity period and applicable law.

Customers are responsible for keeping their gift-card codes secure. Please contact us promptly if you believe a code has been lost or used without permission.

Privacy

Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection legislation.

Intellectual property

The website and its original content—including text, branding, photographs, graphics and design—belong to Curiosité or are used with permission.

Content may not be reproduced, distributed or used commercially without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

Liability and events outside our control

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of these terms or our negligence, subject to mandatory consumer law.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, transport disruption, customs delays, strikes, government action or technical failures affecting external service providers.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our services, legal obligations or business practices change. The terms in force when an order is placed will apply to that purchase.

Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Mandatory consumer protection available in the customer’s country of residence continues to apply.

If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, Swedish consumers may contact Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN) through arn.se. We will participate in dispute resolution where required by law.
